Musikator is an independent media project built around one simple idea: the most interesting music industry stories aren’t coming from New York or London.
Founded by Robin Malau, a Bandung-born, LA-based music veteran turned tech professional, currently working on AI at one of the largest tech company in the world. Musikator documents conversations with music trailblazers from around the world. The guests aren’t household names by mainstream standards. They’re the people who built scenes, ran venues, managed festivals, and shaped local industries in ways that rarely make the international mainstream press.
The project started because Robin missed the conversations. After years of traveling to showcase festivals and music conferences across 30+ countries as a music ecosystem speaker and British Council partner, he relocated to the US in 2018. The global loop stopped. Musikator is his way of reconnecting.
